Lightpainting with your iPhone

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

I’m sure many of you would have seen this video by now or a variation of it. It takes a very basic concept of a long shutter exposure and some light. Today I downloaded a cheap app which does the same thing for the iPhone and iPad. It’s called Holographium and it can be picked up from the app store for $1.99! or free if your iPhone is jailbroken.

I’ve only had a brief play around with it but here’s the 2nd exposure I did for the night, I think it turned out pretty well, which is a good indication on how easy it is to use. You can control the density of the light, width, colour, text and duration which gives you an ability to make the text appear however you want! I’m sure someone who is creative enough can produce some amazing typography.

10/10/10 – Canon Photo5

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

It’s that time of the year again where Canon send budding photos a special little box. For the people who don’t already know it’s a photography competition which is open for everybody, it involves you receiving a package and 5 objects which you must incorporate into your photo submissions.

More information can be found here: Canon Photo5 Competition, hopefully it’s not too late for people to sign up and get their cameras out and shooting.

Welcome

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

Yesterday was the day that bwenstar.com opened it’s domain. Still tweaking page layout and colours but will be ready before I head off overseas. Hopefully my blog will be updated with things I find inspiring, music that I enjoy and texts I find interesting to read.

In the meantime here are some artwork that I found brilliant, I would assuming it would be a very tedious and time consuming process!
