Magnetic Man the collective group of Skream, Benga and Artwork is a great drum & bass group who have a great titled released album released earlier this year. This live clip in conjunction with Katy B (Katy on a mission) gives this song a different approach to this usually up tempo dnb song.

Danny Byrd, a drum and bass DJ hailing from the UK. He is signed to Hospital records since 2000 and dropped his first album, Medical History. Three year on after some huge success overseas he has released his second album, Rave Digger.

He is probably more well known for his tracks such as Ill Behaviour and Judgement Day. His album isn’t what you expect from a typical UK D&B group, his album is heavily influenced with R&B and House tracks. This can be seen especially from his Essential Mix he did on Radio 1 early this year.

If you haven’t heard of him before I definitely think he will be more well known in Australia especially when the drum and bass scene becomes a little larger with the annoucement of Pendulum doing the rounds for the Future Music festival in 2011.

Hospital Records’ drum and bass producer Danny Byrd takes to the decks for another Essential Mix.

Hospital Records has only been around since 1996 but has signed some great Drum & Bass artists such as London Elektricity, High Contrast and Danny Byrd. To be honest I had never heard of Netsky before this Essential Mix and after listening to this set, I quite like it. I’m sure the hardcore D&B fans wouldn’t think too much of this and would class it quite ‘cheesy’ but personally I think it has nice uptempo energy that is found throughout the whole set.

Belgian drum & bass poster boy Netsky makes a stunning soulful Essential Mix debut. He’s signed to Hospital records and his self titled album was released earlier this year to critical acclaim.

It’s that time of the year again where Canon send budding photos a special little box. For the people who don’t already know it’s a photography competition which is open for everybody, it involves you receiving a package and 5 objects which you must incorporate into your photo submissions.
